Difference between Soaps and Series

Diary of Ann Frank’
Has focuses on one progressing story. Which soap do not do, soaps tend to change and switch between different subplot, so that the audience doesn’t become restless. The series has narration throughout each episode which adds to the drama, while soaps tend to stick with straight dietetic sound, which is recorded at the same time as it is shot. Series also have a Main protagonist which the camera follows throughout the show. Soaps don’t have a main protagonist, and doesn’t revolve around one single character. The lighting in Ann Frank is a lot darker and adds to the dramatic tension. Soaps use more natural light to give it a sense of realism, and because it’s also cheaper to use.
Grading is used throughout Diary of Ann because it makes it look crisper and more polished. Have more sound effects than soap and the acting are at a higher standard than in soap.
